La terza stagione di Vikings è stata presentata per la prima volta il 19 febbraio 2015 su History Channel in Canada e si è conclusa il 23 aprile 2015, composta da 10 episodi.

Trama

La nuova stagione inizia con Ragnar come re e segue la grande responsabilità che ora poggia sulle spalle dell'ex contadino.

Con la promessa di una nuova terra dagli inglesi, Ragnar guida il suo popolo verso un destino incerto sulle rive del Wessex. Re Ecbert ha fatto molte promesse e resta da vedere se le manterrà. Ma sempre il vagabondo inquieto, Ragnar sta cercando qualcosa in più ... e lo trova nella mitica città di Parigi. Per essere impenetrabili alle forze esterne, Ragnar e la sua banda di norvegesi devono riunirsi per abbattere le sue mura e cementare la storia dei vichinghi.

La coinvolgente saga familiare di Ragnar, Rollo, Lagertha e Bjorn continua come alleanze e amicizie leali vengono messe in discussione, la fede è catechizzata e le relazioni sono tese. I vichinghi raccontano storie straordinarie delle vite e delle avventure epiche di questi guerrieri e ritrae la vita nei secoli bui, un mondo governato da predoni ed esploratori, attraverso gli occhi della società vichinga.

Produzione

La stagione 3 è stata ufficialmente presentata il 25 marzo 2014, durante già quattro episodi della seconda stagione erano stati trasmessi. La produzione è iniziata nell'estate 2014.

Lagertha learns that her Earldom has been usurped and convinces Ragnar to travel to Hederby with her in an effort to reclaim her title. Ragnar causes great surprise when he announces the next raid. The Seer has interesting prophecies for Rollo.

Preparations for the Paris raid pick up pace. Porunn and Judith both deliver children, and with new life there is also death. Athelstan tells Ragnar of his re-connection to his Christian faith. Floki interprets a sign from the gods that a sacrifice should be made.

The Viking army embarks and Paris goes into lockdown as the army prepares the defense, overseen by Odo. The Vikings are determined to make it through the gates of Paris and will stop at nothing to succeed.

With one last chance to take Paris, Ragnar and his Vikings troops take a daring chance. Ragnar asks Bjorn for a favor that could change the course of Viking history.
